Digital Projects
Throughout my career, I've always gravitated toward the digital space. In 2014, I was asked to manage the redesign of a company's flagship website, which is how I became immersed in the many facets of product development. Since then, I've had the opportunity to manage the development and redesign of numerous digital products, and have become well-versed in agile development, user experience, search engine optimization and analytics.
Writing & Editing
Writing and editing are skills that have always come naturally to me, and over the years, I've covered everything from local county fairs to grain markets to farm bill policy. I enjoy the challenge of writing a catchy headline, and making a story interesting and informative while still being optimized for search engines.
Newspaper Design
I cut my teeth in the newspaper business, and working as a night news editor meant I often had to design pages. My design philosophy centers around bringing the best information forward, leaning on info boxes, bulleted lists and sidebars to break stories into easily digestible chunks.
